Christianity 101: A look at the basics

Posted on Thu, Aug 30, 2012

Rev. Keeler will teach "Christianity 101," a special adult class designed to help students understand the basics of Christian faith, as part of this year's Wednesday evening WOW program.

"A number of people who participated in our special visioning workshop led by Rev. Terry Powell expressed a desire for this type of class," Rev. Keeler said.

He has planned the course to provide students with basic information on the Bible, an understanding of basic Christian doctrine, church history, sacraments, Christian symbols, and much more. Classes will run from 6:15 to 7 p.m. each Wednesday.

"If someone has a question about the church, the Bible, doctrine, or Christian history, I'll try to provide answers," he said. "Folks may want to look at this as a kind of advanced confirmation class."

This year's WOW program will kick off Sept,. 12 with an outdoor cookout and live radio broadcasts by YES-FM. Children attending that evening will not have class, but Rev. Keeler will offer an adult class at 6:15 p.m. If you want to know more about your faith, plan on coming.
