Youth Help at Sacred Heart Home

Posted on Fri, May 3, 2013

Youth from Zion gathered April 27 for a movie, "Letters from God," then traveled to Sacred Heart Home, a facility operated by Little Sisters of the Poor, to help run a bingo night for elderly residents.

Rosanne Kalinowski, who has preached at Zion and traveled to Haiti with members of our church, is activities director at the home and helped to arrange the evening.

Youth provided candy and small teddy bears that were distributed as bingo prizes, and the home invited the group back to assist with a bowling trip for residents. Members of the group spent quite a bit of time sitting and chatting with residents at the facility.

The youth group has challenged Jim Nevel and Mike Andryc to a chili cookoff in May. Members of the church will have an opportunity to test the various recipes at a special Sunday luncheon. Look to future bulletins for further details.
