WOW season ends

Posted on Tue, Apr 2, 2013

This year's Wednesday evening WOW program ended just before Easter with a celebration dinner. This year's program included an adult-level "Christianity 101" class that introduced members to basic Christian teachings and concepts. In addition, Youth Director Jim Nevel had folded his mid-week "Soul Surfing" program into WOW, providing a steady course of study for teens and youth.

The Christianity 101 class ended with WOW, but Jim will continue Soul Surfing through the summer for members of the youth group.

Adults completing the 101 series voted before the class ended to resume next fall as part of WOW by completing a study of "A Celebration of Discipline," a classic book on traditional Christian disciplines such as prayer, fasting, and worship. The book, written by famous spiritual author Richard Foster, explains how traditional disciplines of faith affect each person's spiritual journey.

More than a dozen children participated in the weekly Wednesday evening program in the year just completed.
