The propane tanks used to heat our church and to fuel the kitchen stove ran dry a week ago because our vendor failed to refill in a prompt fashion. The trustees moved to immediately switch vendors.
The new vendor immediately discovered a propane leak in the kitchen area once the new tanks were installed. We had asked our previous vendor about the possibility of such a leak, but were told that the smell of gas in our kitchen area was a natural result of low LP pressure in the tanks. Witt & Gaines was called to the church to immediately deal with the leak.
This is the second time our tanks ran empty under the previous vendor. Such a situation creates immense problems for the church because we suddenly find ourselves without heat or the ability to prepare full meals. It also leaves us facing a massive bill because we have to buy up to 3,000 gallons of propane at once.
Because of end-of-year budget restrictions, the trustees were unable to completely fill the new tanks that were installed last week. Please consider making an end-of-year Christmas donation that would help us to do that. Members will receive a notice of all this when they receive this year's Christmas letter from the pastor, and we hope they can respond generously and promptly.
