Rev. Paula Stewart, who has been serving as pastor of Collingwood United Methodist Church, in Toledo, will assume duties as a half-time interim pastor at Zion in January.
District Supt. Rev. Marla Brown introduced Rev. Stewart to members of the Pastor-Parish Relations committee Dec. 7, and Marilyn Behm, chair of the committee, informed the congregation of the appointment the next day.
Rev. Stewart will only be at Zion until July 1, at which time a permanent appointment will be put in place. The interim appointment was made in order to give district officers more time to find the very best fit for Zion that they could.
Rev. Keeler served as Rev. Stewart's guide and mentor when she explored the possibility of becoming a minister. She has served as a full-time pastor for many years, first as a licensed pastor and, in the past year, as a fully ordained elder in the United Methodist Church. She has four children and has served in the past as executive director of a social-service agency in Toledo.
