Nearly 50 persons arrived at Zion last Friday for the first movie night scheduled by the young adult and youth classes at Zion, including about 15 visitors.
The two classes planned and carried out the movie night as part of Zion's 20/20 vision work, which calls for the church to bring 20 persons closer to Christ this year and to restore stronger relationships with 20 existing members.
Members of the church donated soda and funds to pay for free snacks distributed during the movie, and the project raised $100 for the church's youth group funds.
As part of the project, the classes renewed a copyright license that gives the church the right to legally show movies covered by the license. Adam and Jill Pfeiffer explained to others in the church how they can determine which movies can be legally shown, in case Sunday school teachers wanted to use movies as part of their classroom curriculum.
