This year's Wednesday evening WOW program will kick off Sept. 12 with an outdoor cookout and live broadcasts by YES-FM radio in Toledo, Fremont, Wauseon, and Lima.
The 2012-2013 Waz Up on Wednesday program will follow the pattern established last year, with special events replacing classes one week each month. Plans are already in place for a special Harvest Festival Oct. 31, with a cookout, special activities with the Psalm Kiter, a bonfire, and a hayride, along with the regular "Trick or Trunk" alternative to regular trick or treating.
Jim Nevel, youth director, will continue the teen-level "Soul Surfer" programming for teens through the months that WOW operates, and Rev. Keeler will launch a new adult class aimed at providing a basic introduction to Christianity. The adult class -- Christianity 101 -- will include several sessions on the origin and content of the Bible, an examination of Christian sacraments, a look at Christian history, study of basic Christian doctrine, and students will have plenty of opportunities to have their questions answered.
Preliminary plans are also in place to expand the annual Christmas caroling program to include stops at the homes of elderly non-members and neighbors.
